National Trust for Scotland Venues
For centuries the National Trust for Scotland’s
properties have played host to magnificent banquets and dances for
the rich and famous. Today these wonderful venues are open for all to enjoy
and are available to you for private hire. With an inspiring collection of
castles, stately homes and gardens, situated in both city centre and
countryside locations, the Trust has a venue to accommodate any size or
style of wedding.
Perched on a clifftop overlooking the Firth of Clyde and surrounded by
exquisite gardens and acres of parkland, Culzean Castle, near Ayr, is a dramatic
location for a fairytale wedding.
For a smaller and more personal wedding Drum Castle, near Banchory, is simply
unique. Amid an ancient oak forest on the edge of Royal Deeside, Drum
combines medieval history, Jacobean romance and Victorian opulence to
striking effect.
Haddo House, near Ellon, is one of the
Trust’s most welcoming stately homes, built with entertaining in
mind! With breathtaking views, exquisite formal gardens and crisp
Georgian exteriors, the opportunities for stunning wedding photographs
at Haddo are endless, at any time of year.
Accommodation is available at many of the Trust’s venues. The
Laird’s Apartment in the west wing of Brodie Castle offers spacious and
luxurious accommodation, set over three floors, for up to 14 guests.
Similarly, the Preston Tower Apartment at Fyvie Castle is set over four
floors and can sleep up to 13 guests. Both of these
‘Connoisseur Collection’ apartments are furnished to a very
high standard and include a large lounge, grand dining room and a fully
equipped kitchen, offering ideal accommodation for the wedding party.
By choosing a National Trust for Scotland venue you will also be helping Scotland’s largest conservation charity protect the nation’s natural and cultural heritage for present and future generations to enjoy.
