The VOWS Award Winners 2007

Scotland's leading wedding suppliers were celebrated at the VOWS (Voted Oustanding Wedding Supplier) Awards on 6th November, with almost 600 of the countries top wedding suppliers attending the only award ceremony of its kind in Scotland.

Now in its third successful year, the VOWS AWARDS 2007 is a fantastic celebration of Scottish wedding companies offering and delivering the best service to couples planning their special day.  All nominees where entered on-line or by post by brides and grooms, and the shortlist was then chosen by an esteemed panel of industry professionals, including Sarah Haywood; VisitScotland's official Wedding Planner, media 'Wedding Doctor' and author of the UK's top selling bridal book the Wedding Bible, and Lorna Bruce, Product Manager of the Scottish Wedding website at VisitScotland. This year, over 7,500 votes were cast by members of the public, making the VOWS the biggest and most representative awards ceremony of its kind in Scotland.

The winners were announced at the awards ceremony, a gala dinner at Edinburgh's Corn Exchange, on Tuesday November 6, hosted by celebrity writer and broadcaster Kaye Adams who said: "It really has been a fantastic evening - the atmosphere has been so positive and upbeat. If these awards are any indication of the state of the wedding industry in Scotland, then it's very encouraging for the future."

Main media partner for the awards is the Scottish Wedding Directory, Scotland's leading wedding magazine and Directory.  Editor and Judge Lorna Leckie was delighted with the high standard of nominees and winners in all categories. "I'm delighted that the VOWS Awards 2007 has been such a successful night. The Edinburgh Corn Exchange has surpassed itself as a venue, and all the nominees were of the highest calibre. The Scottish Wedding Directory is delighted to recognise those companies that have gone beyond their customers expectations."
